We take training so seriously that candidates must pass a multitude of tests before being allowed to put on a uniform. Proprietary, multi-media interactive computer training. Live classroom training and testing. On-site field training. All are fundamental elements of our extensive training program which covers a wide array of topics, including safety measures, procedures, cultural diversity, conflict resolution, dealing with teenagers, crime prevention and liability issues. In addition, all Valor officers attend mandatory training sessions that keep them at the forefront of public safety and security. Every month, each officer receives a self-study packet from Valor University, our adult learning program, which provides a library of topics specific to retail and hospitality security, such as report writing, patrol techniques and dispatch training. By proving knowledge of these topics, officers are rewarded with promotions and monetary bonuses.

Plus, we offer web training on a range of basic and advanced security issues through our proprietary web site, www.valortraining.com. After formal and ongoing training, years of hands-on experience with clients, staff, customers, and increasing familiarity with the Valor system, today’s officer will become tomorrow’s Security Director. Even our supervisors and managers at all our locations continue their training to enhance their performance and further develop their management skills. We believe that training as an ongoing exercise results in better officers and managers. Better officers and managers means that Valor offers a more comprehensive, efficient and effective security program. That gives us as much peace of mind as it does our clients.

Valor’s specialized training also includes instruction in CPR and AED (Automated External Defibrillator) use, a service pioneered by Valor and an important part of our customer service focus. Because of this commitment, Valor is one of only three companies in the U.S. certified by the American Heart Association for CPR and AED instruction – an honor that means every officer is well-prepared to respond immediately to emergency medical situations. In hospitality, this meets the OSHA requirement (29 CFR 1910.151 Medical Services and First Aid) for first aid response.
